Following strictly the sanitary directions of our ministries of Health and Tourism for the 2020 season, we applied the below safety protocols at Philoxenia Hotel and have ensured a safe environment to our guests and staff.
Please note that the moment any possible changes on the mandatory protocols will be revealed by our ministries for 2021 season, we will publish them here in order to inform you accordingly. Below, we quote the protocols that were followed in 2020.
The check-in and check-out time were modified in order the rooms to be cleaned in even more detail and for social distance purposes. Consequently, the check in started from 15.00 pm and the check out ended at 11.00 am.
Receptionists welcomed guests wearing a sneeze guard and gloves. During the check-in/out procedure, a distance of 2 meters between the front office and the guests was required.
Our standard room cleaning service was modified following the COVID-19 safety instructions. As a result, Instead of daily making up your room, we recommended entering every 2-3 days.
Of course, in case our guests would prefer their room to be cleaned a specific day or even daily, all they had to do is to leave the "please make up my room" sign on their door handle and we would have been at their service.
Our cleaning maid, was entering the rooms wearing gloves, mask and a single use waterproof pron. All hard surfaces were cleaned by approved disinfectants and all cloth materials with steam cleaner.
Bed sheets, pilow cases, and towels were gathered in closed cases and washed at 70 C in order to be decontaminated. All rooms after being decontaminated were left with balcony doors open in order fresh air to be circulated in the interior.
All shared areas and surfaces were daily cleaned using disinfectants which are approved by our national organization for medicines.
Furthermore, nobody except the residents and the staff of the hotel was allowed to enter at the interior areas of the hotel as a measure against any possible transmission. The hotel's shared toilets were closed in order to avoid the multiple entering of guests during the day, without previously having decontaminated them.
The tables were distanced at minimum 1,70 meters. Guests were able to find hand sanitizers on each one of them as well as on the reception desk and at each entrance of the hotel.
As always, our guests had the chance to enjoy our delicacies. Though, in 2020, breakfast was directly served by Philoxenia Hotel staff to guests' tables in order to provide an isolated environment to the buffet surroundings and to promote social distance.
Specifically, the buffet area was not be open for guests to enter. On the contrary, our staff wearing mask and gloves delivery the breakfast after having decontaminated their gloves, the buffet cookware, the guest's cutlery and the entire breakfast and cafeteria surfaces.
The buffet's cutlery and plates were washed only in high temperature (70 C) dish washing circle in order to provide the best possible hygiene.
Following our high sanitary standards, we focus on the daily decontaminating of the hotel areas, providing a clinical environment an excellent hygiene to our guests and staff.
